Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 July 2026
Get into Korea (“we”, “the site”) is an independent visa guide. You can read every guide, use the wizard, and browse tips without an account — we collect nothing until you choose to sign in and save your progress. This policy explains what we collect when you do, why, and the rights you have over it.
1. Who we are
Get into Korea operates the website getintokorea.com. For any privacy question or to exercise the rights below, contact us at privacy@getintokorea.com.
2. What we collect
We only collect personal data once you sign in with Google and save something. Specifically:
- Account basics from Google sign-in: your email address, name, and profile photo.
- Profile you provide: your nationality and preferred language.
- Visa cases you save: the visa type and any dates you enter (entry, issue, expiry) so we can calculate your deadlines.
- Your checklist progress, saved both in your browser (local storage) and, when signed in, to your account.
- Visas you bookmark for quick access.
3. Why we use it and our legal basis
We use this data only to provide the personalized features you ask for: remembering your visa cases, showing your progress, and calculating deadlines from your dates. We do not use it for advertising and we never sell it.
Our legal basis is your consent, given when you sign in and save data, and the performance of the service you request. The public guide content requires no account and no personal data.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We rely on a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf:
- Supabase — database and authentication. Your account data is stored on Supabase servers located in Singapore.
- Google — sign-in (you authenticate with your Google account), site analytics (Google Analytics, see section 8), and advertising (Google AdSense, see section 8).
- Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery.
5. International transfer of your data
Your account data is stored on servers located in Singapore. If you access the site from Korea, the EU, or elsewhere, your data is transferred to and stored in Singapore. By signing in and saving data, you consent to this transfer.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account yourself at any time from My page (“Delete account”) — this permanently removes your cases, progress, bookmarks and profile. You can also ask us to delete your data. Progress stored only in your browser is cleared when you clear your browser data.
7. Your rights
You can access and correct your nationality and language settings directly on your dashboard, and you can also delete your account and all your data there yourself. You may also request a copy of your data, request deletion, or withdraw your consent at any time by emailing privacy@getintokorea.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out.
If you are in the EU/EEA you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are in Korea you may contact the Personal Information Protection Commission (pipc.go.kr) or the Korea Internet & Security Agency (118).
8. Cookies, analytics & advertising
Essential cookies keep you signed in — the site does not work without them.
We also use Google Analytics 4 to measure, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how the site is used, so we can improve the guides. This data is not used for advertising and ad-personalization signals are turned off. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser — every feature of the site keeps working.
We show ads through Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or at aboutads.info. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent via a banner before any advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time.
9. Children
This site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 14. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. We will change the “last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will make it clear on the site.
